Croeso i Ddosbarth Enfys! 🌈 Welcome to Dosbarth Enfys, our Nursery and Reception class at Ysgol Machen.
🌈 About Us
Our Nursery and Reception team are Miss Davies, Mrs Nicol, Mrs Asbury and Miss Tyler. We are a wonderful group of our youngest learners, just beginning their exciting learning journey. We love being curious, creative and inquisitive, developing enquiring minds as we explore, investigate and discover the world around us. We are one big, happy family in Dosbarth Enfys and we love learning, playing and having fun together!
🍎 Amser Snac
We enjoy a healthy snack at school every day during our morning playtime. Please provide your child with a healthy snack of fruit or vegetables, prepared and cut safely so that they can enjoy it independently.
🏃 Health and Wellbeing & PE
Health and Wellbeing is an important part of the curriculum for our youngest learners. We encourage children to develop healthy habits, confidence, independence and positive relationships as they learn and play together. Our PE session takes place every Friday. Children do not need to bring a change of clothes for PE.
🏡 How Can You Support at Home?
There are lots of simple ways you can support your child as they begin their learning journey with us. Please ensure that all clothing and personal belongings are clearly labelled with your child’s name. This helps us to make sure belongings find their way back to the correct child. As the year progresses, we will share guidance and ideas to help you support your child’s phonics and reading at home. Working together is an important part of helping children develop these essential early reading skills. Children receive daily phonics teaching in school. Reception children have designated reading days on Mondays and Tuesdays.
